Wanda Diamond League Meeting Silesia 2026 “Kamila Skolimowska Memorial”: Meeting Records by Chase Jackson, Alyssa Jones and Agate de Soussa in Chorzów

Chase Jackson opens the 1st day of the Wanda Diamond League Meeting, setting Meeting Record at 20.92m. In the women’s Long Jump Portugal’s Agate De Soussa flied to 6.98m (PB), while Alyssa Jones achieved the same mark in the 5th round. Gianmarco Tamberi cleared 2.31m to win the High Jump. The meeting continues on Sunday.
Mykolas Alekna set DL Record at 72.58 in “Silesia 2026”
Mykolas Alekna won the Discus Throw with a 72.58m, while Gemechu Godana clocked 8:02:74 MR in the 3000m steeplechase event. Oblique Seville impressed in the 100m final with 9.83 MR, where all finalists clocked under 10 seconds. World leading performance by Alison dos Santos 46.43, while M Jefferson–Wooden clocked 10.78 in the 100m and Tsige Duguma ran the 1500m in a WL 3:55.06. Nadia Battocletti dominated the 5,000m race in 14:54.09, crossing the line in front of six Ethiopians. Mondo Duplantis cleared 6.20m,
Athletissima 2026: The greatest ever pole vault competition opens the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Lausanne (20 Aug 2026)
Mondo Duplantis cleared 6.21m to win the historic pole vault contest against Emmanouil Karalis, who soared 6.16m, his best ever outdoor performance. The Diamond League Meeting continues on Friday

Audrey Werro clocked 1:55.33 challenged by Femke Bol who clocked 1:55.41 NR, as Winfred Yavi won the 3000m steeplechase in 9:00.04, and Masai Russell dominated the 100m hurdles in 12.27. Miltiadis Tentoglou won the long jump with 8.24w.

World U20 Championships “Oregon 2026” – The Greek Team
A numerous team of twelve (12) men and fourteen (14) women athletes announced to represent Greece in “Oregon 26” World U20 Championships.

25 July. The sprinters steal the show in Volos
The women’s 100m event has two National Championships in 2026, as both topo Greek sprinters Rafaela Spanoudaki and Polyniki Emmanouilidou clocked 11.37 (+1.4) to share the top position on the pondium. Sotiris Gkaragkanis impressed in the men’s final, winning in 10.24 (+0.9), while George-John Franks was the expected 400m. winner. In the morning session, Danai-Theodora Bakogianni participated out-of-competition in the 100m hurldes heats to break once more her own NR U20 (13.64). Emmanouil Karalis (5.80m) and Elina Tzengko (57.75m) won easily their events

26 July 2026. Three jumps over 8.60m for Tentoglou!
Miltiadis Tentoglou produced his best ever series at the 2nd day of the Greek Championships in Volos! He jumped 8.52m (+1.1) in the first round, a wind-assisted 8.66m (+2.7) in the second, to repeat it in the third round with wind legal condition (+1.0). He closed the competition at 8.64 (+0.7). Tentoglou tied Louis Tsatoumas National Record which dates back to 2007.

Εuropean U18 Championships “Rieti 2026”
19 July. One more medal for Greece at Rieti 2026
Dimitrios Moumouris won the 4th medal of the Greek Team in Rieti 2026; he got the triple jump bronze medal (15.49m), while Michail Delintzoglou was 5th in the same event. Excellent performance by other Greek finalists, namely Danai-Theodora Bakogianni (100m hurdles, 6th), Zoi Karaliopoulou (High Jump, 12th), Angeliki Anastasiadi and Lorena-Marina Chatzileka (Pole Vault, 10th), Danai Vlaserou (Triple Jump 5th) and Polytimi Dimitriou (Triple Jump, 11th), Chara Gerou and Despoina Koutsidou (5000m Walk, 9th and 12th respectively) and the Women’s Sprint Medley Relay team (5th).
18 July. Gold Medal for Eleni Iakovaki
As expected, Eleni Iakovaki win the 400m final in Rieti in 52.38 (NU18R, NU20R) to get the gold medal of the Championships.
Ioannis Alatakis was 7th (High Jump – 2.03m) and Alexandros Gkogkas 12th, Georgios Tsikotzis placed 5th in the Pole Vault (4.85m), Alkinoos Papagianakis 10th Long Jump – 7.12m). In women’s events Maria-Angelina Kokosi and Fani Markouli placed 6th and 7th in the 200m finals, Evangelia Pavlakaki was 6th in the Long Jump (6.06m) and Danai-Theodora Bakogianni qualified for the 100m hurdles final, setting NU18R at 13.44.
17 July. Two medals for the Greek Team in Rieti 2026
Apostolia Antonakou clocked 11.46 in the 100m final (NU18R) to get the silver medal, following the favorite of the event, Italy’s Kelly Doualla (11.14/0.6m/s, AR U18). Antonakou set also NU18R in the semifinal. Divine Iheme was the winner of the men’s sprint race in CR10.29 (0.1m/s). Petros Kassavitas won the second medal for the Greek Team, was 2nd in the Hammer Thow (75.24m), where Josef Pazdera (CZE) won the gold medal. Andreas Apostolakos placed 5th, throwing 71.46m.

National Records for Roussou and Salpas in Chalkida
17 July 2026. Ioulianna Roussou set a new 1500m. U20 NR for Greece, running 4.14.10, smashing the older record set in 2014 by Anastasia Marinakou, in the 6th Distance Gala held in Chalkida, Greece.
Vasilios Salpas clocked 1:48.53 to break the 800m U20 record, improving the mark set in 2007 by Athanassios Kalakos (1:48.59).

Josh Kerr breaks world mile record with 3:42.66 in London
18 July 2026. Great Britain’s Josh Kerr broke the long-standing world mile record, with 3:42.66 at the Wanda Diamond League, held in London.
USA’s Cierra Jackson improved her PB by almost 4 metres to win the discus with 71.72m , while Karsten Warholm (400m hurdles – 46.61), Julien Alfred (200m – 21.66) and Ja’Kobe Tharp (12.89) set Meeting Records. Kendricks, Duplantis, Kurtis and Karalis all cleared 5.95m, Kendricks got the win on countback thanks to his first-time clearences up to and including that height.

Greek U23 and U20 Combined Events National Championships 2026
11/12 July 2026. Nikos Kosmopoulos set a new U20 National Record in Decathlon, the best performance of the Championships held in Serres, and with total of 7608 points met the standard for the World Championships in Oregon. In other events, Giorgos Papanastasiou won the hammer throw with 77.71m PB and met the standard for the European Championships, Nikolia Poirazidi impressed in the long jump (6.41m/1,7), Andreas Mita won the high jump (2.20m) and Maria Rafilidou won both Discus Throw and Shot Put events.

Tharp backs up world record form with 12.85 in Budapest
14 July 2026. Ja’Kobe Tharp confirmed his status as the new force in sprint hurdling with a stunning 12.85 (-0.4m/s) victory in the men’s 110m hurdles at the István Gyulai Memorial – the last World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting of 2026 – in Budapest. Tharp’s victory in the sprint hurdles was one of seven meeting records set at the meeting. Mondo Duplantis returned to the meeting where he set a world record of 6.29m last year and won once more with 6.07, while Militadis Tentoglou dominated the long jump with 8.31m.

Wanyonyi breaks world 1000m record with 2:11.83, while Tentoglou soars 8.61 in historic clash in Monaco.
July 10. Emmanuel Wanyonyi made his 1000m debut in sensational style, running 2:11.83* to break the long-standing world record at the Meeting International d’Athlétisme Herculis EBS in Monaco. With that performance at the Wanda Diamond League meeting, the Olympic and world 800m champion took 0.13 off the world record of 2:11.96 set by his Kenyan compatriot Noah Ngeny in Rieti in 1999.
The long jump featured record depth during a highly competitive contest. Greece’s two-time Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou achieved the second-best winning mark of his career – 8.61m (0.0m/s), just four centimetres off his PB – in the final round to set a meeting record and world lead. He had led the competition from his very first jump of 8.48m and his impressive series also included leaps of 8.52m, 8.49m and 8.34m.
For the first time in history, five men jumped beyond 8.30m in a single competition. Olympic silver medallist Wayne Pinnock was second on 8.39m, world U20 record-holder Jorge Hodelín was third on 8.38m, world indoor bronze medallist Bozhidar Sarâboyukov was fourth on 8.36m and Simon Ehammer, who started as the world leader after jumping 8.51m during the decathlon at Götzis, finished fifth on 8.32m.
A race between the three fastest women of the year produced the third-fastest athlete in history as Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred blazed to a world-leading meeting and national record of 21.51 (0.9m/s) in the 200m.

Greek National U20 Championships 2026
July 5. One more record for Eleni Iakovaki! On the second day of the Chamionships she broke the 400m hurdles U18 and U20 national records for Greece with 57.41 (4th world U18 mark of the season). Anastasia Boumpoulidi break the pole vault U20 National Record, clearing 4.41m, currently 6th world U20 mark in 2026. → DAY 2: Highlights and Results
July 4. The Championships opened in Trikala, with some excellent performances, although strong winds created problems in many events. Danae – Theodora Bakogianni set U18 and U20 National Records for Greece in the 100m hurdles final – 13.67 (-0.8 m/s); third U18 runner in Europe for this season. Apostolia Antonatou won the 100m in 11.68, but the strong negative wind mark (-2.3 m/s) did not permit something more.
Easy win for Antonios Katsantonis in the men’s event (10.55/-1.7 m/s). Aris Papadopoulos was the winner of U20 Shot Put with 20.45 PB, 4th world U20 performance for 2026. Fly Athens 2026
5 July 2026. Christopher Nilsen (USA) and Thibaut Kollet (FRA) share the win at Fly Athens 2026, both cleared 5.91m. Emmanouil Karalis placed 3rd with 5.81m. Vilma Murto – Heltela (FIN) dominated the women’s competition with 4.81m.
Prefontaine Classic, Wanda Diamond League
3/4 July 2026. Meeting records by Jamal Britt, Masai Russell and Nikki Hiltz were among the highlights as fierce battles and breakthroughs lit up the Prefontaine Classic, this season’s ninth Wanda Diamond League meeting, in Eugene, USA, on Saturday 4. Greek National U18 Championships 2026. Iakovaki runs european leading 200m performance.
June 28 – On the 2nd day of the championships Eleni Iakovaki won the 200m with a European leading U18 performance 23.48 (+0.9 m/s), a new U18 NR for Greece. Fani Markouli (23.69) and Angelina Kokosi (23.71) followed; both participate in the European U18 Championships in this event, while Iakovaki plans to run only in the 400m.

June 27 – Eleni Iakovaki shines again! On the 1st day of the Championships she ran the 400m in 53.39, a new U18 NR for Greece. Iakovaki smashed also the 36-year-old U20 national record.
In the heats round Danai Bakogianni improved the U18 record of the 100m hurdles to 13.52 (+1.2m/s), while Apostolia Antonatou improved her own 100m U18 national record, running in 11.59 (+1.1 m/s).
Dimitris Moumouris impressed with a triple jump personal best at 15.74m, currently #3 U18 world performance of the year.

Karalis placed 3rd in Paris
28 June 2026. Emmanouil Karalis cleared 5.83 for the 3rd place in Wanda Diamond League in Paris. Elina Tzengko had only one valid attempt at 54.35m for the 11th place. Armando Duplantis set a meeting record at 6.13m and lost three attempts at 6.32m

Tentoglou jumps 8.39 in Piraeus
28 June 2026. Miltiadis Tentoglou won the Piraeus Street Long Jump meeting with 8.39m (+0.3 m/s). Jeremiah Davis (USA) followed with 8.21m (-0.4 m/s) and Luvo Manyonga (RSA) was third with 8.15m (+2,7 m/s). Milica Gardašević (SRB) dominated the women’s event (6.70m / +2.2m/s), followed by Jazmin Sawyers (GBR) 6.61w and Alina Rotaru-Kottman (ROU) 6.50 (+1.0 m/s)

Balkan Championships 2026, Volos, GRE
June 21 – Turkiye won 13 gold medals to lead the medals table of the Balkan Championships, Greece followed with 11 golds and a total of 39 medals. Double wins for Greece in the men’s javelin throw with Dimitris Tsitsios and Georgios Christakakos (78.68m and 71.70m respectively) and the women’s 1500m with Ioulianna Roussou (4:20.09) and Koraini Kiriakopoulou (4:20.30) and Romania in the long jump with Ramona Verman (6.78m) and Alina Rotaru–Kottman (6.64). → RESULTS: [DAY 2 – Sunday 21 June]
June 20 – Miltiadis Tentoglou set Championships Record 8.36m to win the long jump on the 1st Day of the 78th Balkan Championships. Katerina Stefanidi won the pole vault with 4.48m, the best performance after her return to the field. Bulgaria’s Hristo Iliev ran 10.25 to win the 100m, while Turkey’s Kubilay Encu was the winner of the 400m in 45.42 and his compatriot Salih Teksoz dominated the 1500m in 3:38.75. Austrians Magdalene Lindner and Isabel Posch won gold and bronzed medals in the women’s 100m, while Adrea Miklos impressed with 52.26 in the 400m. Karalis wins in Doha Wanda Diamond League Meeting
19 June 2026. Emmanouil Karalis cleared 5.92m to achieve his first Diamong League Meeting win in 2026. Christopher Nilsen and Sontre Guttormsen followed, making the same height. Emma Zapletalová (52.30) and Marileidy Paulino (48.91) impressed over one lap of the track, setting meeting records in the 400m hurdles and 400m respectively

Dromia International Sprint and Relays Meeting 2026
13 June 2026 – The strong wind was the protagonist in Dromia International meeting, cancelling important performances, such as the jump at 8.54m by Miltiadis Tentoglou, or the under 10 seconds ran (9.97 /+3.2m/s) of Simon Verherstraeten. Vassilis Myrianthopoulos ran a 200m PB (20.62, +1.8m/s) while an impressing quartret of young girls (Fani Markouli, Apostolia Antonatou, Eleni Iakovaki, Ioanna Tsigka) set U18 and U20 NRs for Greece in the women’s 4x100m relay (45.64)

Hodelín soars 8.46m to break world U20 long jump record (From: Worldathletics)
13 June 2026. Cuba’s Jorge A. Hodelín soared 8.46m to break the world U20 long jump record* at the Envol Trophée, a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger meeting, in Pierre-Bénite, France. The 19-year-old, (4th in the world indoor final in March), surpassed his previous PB of 8.34m to improve the world U20 record of 8.38m set by Italy’s Mattia Furlani in Rome in 2024.

13 June 2026. Alexandra Chernova, threw 65.84m. in Halmstadt, Sweden to break the Greek U20 Hammer Throw Record. The previous record was 65.34m by Iliana Korosidou, since 2014.

23 May 2026. Chinese Ziyi Zan shone in Xianmen Diamond League Meet, throwing the javelin to 71.74m. for a new U20 World Record, Asian Record and Diamond League Record. Ioulianna Rousou set a 800m U20 national record 2:02.54 in Bruxelles on Friday, were Saturday, where Georgia Despollari clocked 2:00.32, approaching the standard for Birmingham European Championships. 16 May 2026. Mohammed Abdilaahi (GER) won the 3000m in Wanda Diamond League Meet in Shanghai, in a NR 7:25.77. Multiple national and area records set in this race. Netherlands’s Jessica Schilder won the Shot Put with 21.09 NR, while Armand Duplantis was the winner of the Pole Vault with 6.12m and Mattia Furlani impressed in the Long Jump with a PB of 8.43. Greek Clubs Championships 2026
9/10 May 2026. The hammer throwers shown in the 1st day of the 2026 Greek Clubs Championships. In Crete, Christos Frantzeskakis improved his personal best to 79.09m to set the standard for the European Championships (3rd all time Greek thrower). Moreover, Sotiris Gentekos delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend in the Athens Group, winning the U20 hammer throw with 75.01m. The 19-year-old achieved a new PB, the qualifying standard for the World Athletics U20 Championships and the world-leading performance in his category this season. In Piraeus, Antonis Katsantonis impressed, setting a new Cyprus’ U20 record of 10.33 in the 100m. Dimitris Pavlidis produced the standout performance on Sunday, throwing the discus 64.31m. The 23-year-old recorded the third-best performance of his career.

Debswana WRE 2026
2/3 May 2026. History was made in Botswana in Debswana World Athletics Relays Gaborone 26, a global competition taken place in Africa for the first time. Jamaica was the winner of the 4X100m mixed relay, in a world record 39.62, improving the record set by the same team yesterday, when Canada‘s team set World Record 40.07 (1st heat of the first qual. round) and Jamaica bettered to 39.99 (3rd heat). USA dominated the 4x400m mixed relay final, with a CR 3.07.47.
Jamaican’s were also the winners of womens 4X100 relay final in 40.00, while Norway dominated the 4x400m race in a WL 3.20.96. Men’s USA 4x100m relay team clocked a WL 37.43 to take the gold, RSA achieved an Area Record in the same final. Botswana won the 4X400m in a CR 2.54.47, while Australia set an Area Record in the final.

Making history in London
